Custom orders are hand crafted to an individual’s personal preference in size, material, color, shape & style.
At Cofer Hat Company, we are hands-on every step of the way in creating a hat to wear & pass down for generations to come. We use only the best quality felts in order to provide you with the best quality hat.
THE BREAK DOWN
Creating your custom felt hat is an exciting and simple experience. To begin the customization process, simply follow the steps below and fill out the custom order form at the bottom of the page with your preferences.
We’ll be in touch once we receive your request to start the creation process and a $200 deposit will be collected!
Please note : wait time can vary depending on workload and supply availability. Please reach out for any timeline concerns. All deposits are non-refundable.
Step 1: Picking your Felt
At Cofer Hat Company, we offer three different felt options. Read below and decide which option best suites your hat needs.

100X Beaver Western Weight - $1,100
100% beaver felt in western weight is our “workhorse”. It comes from the under coating of the beaver fur making it naturally water resistant. This felt is resilient to weather, sweat, and your everyday wear making it an excellent work hat. Easily cleaned, re-blocked, and reshaped, the 100X beaver can have many different lives. The western weight has a stiffness to it allowing for a variety of shapes and can hold short brims or wide brims. This hat will last a lifetime and many lifetimes thereafter allowing it to be passed down from generation to generation.

50/50 Beaver Blend Western Weight - $900
This blend is concocted of equal parts beaver and rabbit fur giving you a similar quality of the 100x beaver. Cleans easily and has the ability to be re-blocked and reshaped. The western weight provides a stiff and sturdy build which makes short or wide brims possible. This is a great quality hat at a lower price point

100X Beaver Dress Weight - $800
The dress weight option is only available in 100% Beaver felt. The dress weight hat is different from the western weight hat in that it is not as stiff and a good bit more flexible. It's lighter in weight and makes for a more “casual-looking” hat. Being more pliable, a dress weight brim can only hold about a 3 1/4” or less brim. A great “going out” hat!

Step 4: Let’s Create!
Now that you’ve got an idea as to which felt you desire, browsed the color palette, and conjured up a style you want, let’s get started on putting together your custom hat!
The following information will be submitted to Cofer Hat Company. Upon retrieval of submission, your deposit is collected, your felt is ordered, and your place in line is secured.Once we receive your felt from our felt manufacturer, you will receive a call from us before your hat hits the block. During this call, we will finalize all custom details.
